I wrote recently about the wonderful, but somewhat expensive, intiative from Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic and its new Digital Concert Hall. HD and 5.1 live concerts. The pictures, sound and direction are top class and lets you in to the Philharmonie to see and hear arguably the world’s greatest orchestra for all its Berlin subscription concerts.

You can dip your toes in the BPO’s digital pool for free courtesy of the intiative’s sponsor, Deutsche Bank. Follow this link and sign up for a free ticket. It’s very quick, safe as houses, and no strings or internet nonsense. DB emailed me the reply/info/ticket within minutes. “We are delighted that you will be with us as the Berliner Philharmoniker kicks off a new season on August 28th 2009. As the Berliner Philharmoniker’s exclusive partner, Deutsche Bank is looking forward to welcoming you to this unique event.”

The door to the Digital Concert Hall will open 15 minutes before curtain time,
at 18:45 CET. Enjoy. ‘See’ you there.
