What personal traits help audiophiles live in, and love, the very complex and competitive world of Audiophilia? Here are some tenets that I try (and oftentimes, fail) to promote. What about you? Each of the ten numbers, I would suggest, are of equal value.
For our non-audiophile audience, these principles can be used in many pursuits. A list by which to live and love.
More gear-centric lists to follow :)

Huzzah, another one for the Passion 2009 list!

Honesty and fairness would probably be at the top of my list. Confidence is a good thing too. People lacking in confidence can easily become the victims of society. Knowledge? Mmm, what I know isn’t worth knowing :-)
It can be a tough business with many pressures from different directions. The first three you mention, Matt, are so important if you want to go the distance as an audio reviewer. Too many succumb to influence. Some publications have a zero tolerance policy for ‘negative’ reviews. That, I find particularly odd. Be honest (and forthright), and ‘they will come’.
My first visit to your website and I am waxing philosophical. From an audiophile perspective I might add to the list - openness. The different high end systems I have been fortunate to hear in the past year have all had distinctive sounds. Ultimately, all these systems are a result of the owners sensitivity and sensibility. The sound of these systems are not right or wrong however I may evaluate with my own tastes. Openness allows me to enjoy the qualities of the sound system and how they uniquely present the music.
Two other concepts I wrestle with are - trust and acceptance. Maybe less appropriate for audiophilia, but oh so challenging.
Great comment, David. And welcome. Wax philosophical anytime.
Cheers, a
