Here’s to a wonderful, musical 2009. We hope you are enjoying the new look/style Audiophilia. All your favourite reviews are still there. Just search the Search Past Review Archives box in the right sidebar. For recent review/posts, just check the most recent month in Archives, also on the sidebar. We’ll keep the latest reviews/posts on the front page. Just scroll down. For longer reviews, click click to continue. Duh! :)

The proof is in the pudding

We’ve updated 15 times in 2 weeks. A honeymoon period? God, I hope not! I do know that the new format is gloriously easy to update. We can even bring you important information/reviews from other publications. Check our continuously growing ‘Blogroll’ for sites that I like to visit, not all audio/music. And, why not suggest some of your own?

I’m busy reviewing some new CDs, Lenehan’s ML1 loudspeaker and Audience’s Adept Response aR1p power conditioner for you. Marty, Henry and Andy have also got lots in the works. I’ll be listening to the new JML Focal Utopia 111 Series - Scala next week. Really looking forward to that.

Stay tuned.

If you have a moment, please subscribe to Audiophilia. Hey, it’s free, ultra quick, and painless!

Happy New Year everybody.

Pssst. The archive review search tool might be having a few teething problems.

To you, too, Matt.

The Search Archive is working this end, Matt. Teething, how? Cheers, a

Thanks Anthony.

It didn’t find the Raysonic SP-120 amp review. I have fond memories of that review. It was the first time ‘that cable’ was mentioned! Seems like such a long time ago…

admin 01.02.09 at 2:58 pm

Typing in Raysonic will help :)

Worked for me in both Firefox and Safari.

What browser are you using?

Andy Fawcett 01.02.09 at 6:04 pm

Using IE7, I’m finding that the search function locates articles published under the new format but nothing from the old site (reviews and forum posts).

Good to see you again Matt - a very HNY to you.

Dumb question, but are you using the lower search box for the old reviews (Search Review Archives)? If so, I’ll pass on the IE7 anomaly to Trudy.

BTW, the designer of Thesis (Chris Pearson), the Wordpress engine we are using went gaga over our design.

Doh! You’re right, I was only using the top search box … but it does say “search Audiophilia” so I assumed it would access everything. The other search works fine, but it’d be nice if they could be unified. Neither facility covers posts in the old Forum.

I think I’ll be placing the search boxes together, with a more detailed description. Should help.

Anthony. I’m using IE6.

The top search box sends me to an Audiophilia webpage stating that no results were found. The bottom search box displays a blank white webpage saying “The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.”

…and a happy new year to you Andy!

Has the word you typed been used in a review/post yet? The top box is for the new edition only. The Search Review Archives box on the bottom should take you back to a list from the old archives. I’ll run all this by Ttudy upon her return.

Cheers, and thanks!

Matt 01.03.09 at 4:36 pm

Aha! The top box works fine with new reviews (Marantz, Coldplay etc).

Any update on publication of the Lenehan ML1 follow-up review? I read Andy’s review and was intrigued enough that I ordered a pair. They haven’t arrived yet, but I’m always interested in what another set of ears thinks. I wonder if I’ll be the first to get them stateside? Thanks!

I really appreciate all the heads’ up re the functionality. A great help.

Hi Mike:

The review will be up this month.

Congratulations on your new speakers. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as Andy. What are your electronics?

Cheers, Anthony

I’m using a Naim CD5X/NAC122X/Flatcap2X/NAP150X combo. My room happens to be the same size as what Lenehan used to voice the speakers. Should be interesting! regards,

Hello! Just wanted to say congrats on the new site design. I’m a big fan of the Thesis theme and have been using it for several months on my site, Daily Audiophile. Glad to see you’ve customized it well. Here’s to a creative and prosperous 2009!

admin 01.13.09 at 6:47 pm

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. I’m loving Thesis for its ease of use and sophisticated look. We’re getting may positive reviews and comments.

Best of luck with Daily Audiophile.

Happy New year to you, too.

Cheers, Anthony
