From all of us at Audiophilia, we wish you the very best for this holiday season and especially good health and happiness for 2012.

It’s been a wonderful, transformational year here at Audiophilia. The honesty and quality of the writing has been maintained by the team, always our top priority. We’ve also been a little self-indulgent by travelling to shows, developing the site and growing our business.

For some reason, monetizing online businesses in a social media world seems like an oxymoron. We want to keep the balance — we like to eat, too — but will never compromise our core values. And the best thing about our initiatives, growth and continued dedication to good writing is that the team is completely in sync.

Our team grew to 10 this year. Our new assistant, Sara Catherine has been a tremendous addition to the staff. And our developer Trudy Maresch continues to make the site look and feel sophisticated. Why not look good *and* read ‘good’? I’m always surprised why some folks believe that the way a site looks is of little importance. It is. People always want to be associated with excellence. Talking of excellence, a very warm welcome to James Norris, our Media Director. James brings many years of musical and journalistic expertise to his new role.

We continue to work hard everyday to earn your visits. It seems to be working. We received nearly 4 million page views this year from almost half a million individual visits. Thank you. In a search on Google for ‘audiophile’ (many countries’ Google, BTW), we are consistently second to Wikipedia and ahead of Stereophile! I remember when we were 3rd. That was a good day. Now 2nd, our new initiatives seem to be working.

A very special thank you to our advertisers, past, present and future. Their sponsorship keeps the site free and is very much appreciated. Please visit their websites and share in the support. Thank you.

And finally to the writing team. The best team on the web, bar none! It is an honour to be associated with you. And, as I always say, they make me look good everyday. Thank you so much!

All the best for 2012.

Cheers, Anthony
